The Preferred Family Medicine
Comprehensive Wellness Program
Preferred Family Medicine's Comprehensive Wellness Program (CWP) is a benefit for our annual paying members. The entire process is quite involved and staged over a few weeks. Our wellness program is different from the typical insurance-based annual physical exam. We include expanded lab panels, advanced screening tests, and an extended visit with your doctor. Common questions:
Should I fast for the labs? Ideally, yes..for 8-10 hrs. Drink plenty of water. If you forget to fast, it is still possible to perform Part 1 testing, so don’t fret. Also, we have coffee in the office for those folks that want to partake right after the lab draw.
Will I have to undress? The days of completely undressing for your physical exam have gone by the wayside. People are modest and we want you to be comfortable. That being said, certain testing may require one to undress. A chaperone will always be present for sensitive exams.
Do I need to bring in my medications? It is always a good idea to bring in your bottles of medications if you are new to the practice or you are uncertain of the name and dose of your medications. If you have an updated list including name, dose, quantity and pharmacy, that should suffice.
Do I have to pay for the visits or the testing (including labs)? No, everything in the wellness exam is included with your membership as long as you have you have paid for an annual membership. See our pricing here. If testing beyond the list of services is requested by our physician, we will make you aware of the costs involved to the best of our ability. Transparency of pricing is paramount to our practice.
